Ever wondered what actually goes on at an Essential Jewellery shoot day?
We recently headed into the studio to shoot some of our new jewellery and, of course, there was a lot of jewellery involved!
From choosing the pieces we wanted to photograph to styling each look and getting that final shot, here’s a little look at what went on behind the scenes.
Getting everything ready
Before the camera comes out, there’s plenty to do, from planning the style of images we want to capture to the final outfit looks.
We had trays of jewellery ready to go, with earrings, necklaces, rings and bracelets all laid out and ready to go.
We split the shoot day into campaign shooting for our upcoming campaigns and product launches and then after lunch we shot e-comm images for products that needed updated model imagery.
We kept the styling simple for this shoot, with white backgrounds and minimal outfits so the jewellery could really take centre stage.
Onto the first shot
Once everything was ready, it was time to get shooting.
We worked our way through the jewellery, changing pieces throughout the day and trying different poses and angles to capture how each piece looks when it's actually being worn.
And while the finished images might look effortless, there’s usually a lot of adjusting behind the scenes.
A necklace needs straightening. A ring needs moving. An earring isn't sitting quite right.
Then… “one more shot.”
A day full of jewellery
One of our favourite parts of shoot days is seeing the jewellery styled on a person rather than just sitting on a product stand.
It gives us a chance to see how pieces work together, how they sit when worn and how they can be styled for everyday outfits.
And with plenty of new images to choose from, we’ve got lots coming to the website, social media and upcoming campaigns.
The final shots
After a full day in the studio, we had hundreds of images to choose from so we make a selection and then those get edited and make it onto our website and social media channels.
