About the Store
Essential Southampton was the first to open. Opened in 1990, the store was originally located in The Bargate Centre, situated on a floor of start up businesses. It later moved to a larger unit in the same centre in 1993 where the store grew from strength to strength. The decision was made to move to the new centre opening in 2000 - 'West Quay' shopping centre. The Southampton store has remained in the same unit ever since, but had a couple of face lifts since then. The most recent renovation was in 2017 when the store was the first to take on the newest style of shop fit. It closed for 8 weeks to be remodeled, our loyal customers loved to tell us how relieved they were when we reopened.
